Board of Fisheries (BoF)

The Alaska Board of Fisheries is a regulatory body responsible for making decisions regarding the management of Alaska's fisheries. Comprising seven members appointed by the governor, the board meets regularly to set regulations, policies, and allocation levels for various fish species and fishing methods across the state. Their decisions are informed by scientific data, public input, and stakeholder engagement, aiming to ensure sustainable resource management while balancing the needs of commercial, subsistence, sport, and personal use fishermen.
